Hello, I’m Sophy! I’ve always loved creating, but I started drawing and painting much more consistently back in spring of 2021. My work is deeply inspired by my love for nature, many of the initial ideas started as little seedlings in my imagination while on walks in the countryside around my home studio in the UK. Through my illustrative work I explore what it means to feel comfort, joy and safety, particularly from the perspective of our inner child.

I studied ceramics in school, but rediscovered my love for it back in 2022 when I decided to take up pottery lessons. It quickly became a passion of mine and I now create pieces from my home studio, as well as a community studio where I get to work with local potters.

While both mediums are firmly nestled down in my heart, I’ve come to find I love them both equally, yet for very different reasons. So I’ve recently released a new place for my ceramics work to reside over on Instagram named as one, (@asone_____) where the earthy energy can grow into something of it’s own, while my whimsical illustrations continue to flourish in their own space (@sophysartroom).
